"I chose to come back to Dr. Corbin after my first implant surgery with him in 2003. Much to my suprise Dee was still here and just as sweet and helpful as she was 16 years ago. This time I was opting for not only new implants but needed a pocket revision and chose to get liposuction and RFAL (a 50th birthday present to me). On the day of surgery the medical staff at the surgery center was first class!!! My anesthesiologist listened to me and even provided patches for nausea during surgery, I woke up calm and never once got sick! Dr. Corbin is an artist and highly skilled. I am thrilled with my results and know that I will be back again!!"- T.O. / Google / May 04, 2019
Can Liposuction Benefit Me?
Liposuction can be a great treatment for men and women who are at a healthy weight but have troublesome areas of fat that don't respond to even the most healthy lifestyle. People contemplating liposuction should have skin that is already taut because liposuction does not treat loose skin. It's also important to realize that liposuction is not a solution for weight loss. Women undergoing liposuction should be past childbearing as pregnancy could compromise the results. At the time of your consultation for surgery, Dr. Corbin will discuss realistic expectations.
Our Liposuction Technique
This treatment is completed in an outpatient setting using general anesthesia. A very small incision is made in the skin and a cannula will be inserted. A cannula is a special tool that makes it easier to work loosen the fatty tissue for removal. After the chosen amount of fat has been taken out, Dr. Frederic Corbin will seal the small incision. Based on the number of sections treated, your procedure could take around 1 – 3 hours. In a separate recovery area, your post-op nurse will help manage your pain and care for your incisions until you are discharged.
Recovery After Liposuction
You may need to stay at home for recovery from lipo for around 1 – 3 weeks, depending on the number of areas treated and the amount of fat removed. It's typical to experience swelling and bruising for about 1 – 2 weeks, and we can typically remove your sutures about 7 – 10 days after your procedure. What is most important after having lipo surgery is that you allow your body time to heal and recover. When you're ready to return to work, you should do your best to take it easy. To increase your strength and stamina, stick to short walks and light workouts as advised by Dr. Corbin. Remember that you may see some improvements soon after your surgery, but it will take around 6 – 10 months until your new body shape is complete.
