About Augmentation + Lift

As women get older, some may lose fullness in their breasts while others may notice loose, excess breast skin. Some women experience both changes with deflated, sagging breasts. If you'd like to increase breast volume while also eliminating excess skin, board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Frederic Corbin recommends breast augmentation surgery with a breast lift (mastopexy). This combination of breast surgeries at Dr. Corbin Plastic Surgery begins with removing loose chest skin and then placing silicone or saline implants to achieve your goal size. Breast surgery with a lift and augmentation can help to address several issues, such as position, shape, and size, in order to give you younger-looking, perkier breasts. We invite you to schedule a consultation at our Brea or Beverly Hills, CA office to discuss your specific concerns and desires with Dr. Corbin.

Is a Breast Augmentation + Lift for Me?

There are many factors that lead patients to consider breast surgery combining augmentation and a lift. It may be an ideal approach if you want to dramatically rejuvenate your breasts and improve the firmness of your breast skin. If you've developed sagging breasts caused by significant weight loss, aging, or pregnancy, you may want to increase breast fullness — this can all be addressed with a combination breast surgery. Dr. Corbin can determine whether a lift by itself could get your desired results or if both procedures are necessary to attain your goals.

Our Surgical Technique

Breast augmentation with a lift is an outpatient procedure with patients sedated under general anesthesia. Typically, the breast lift is performed first. The loose skin is removed and the tissue beneath is tightened. Dr. Corbin will explain the options available for breast implants with you before the surgery so that he can then easily place the selected implant. In certain cases, the nipple-areola complex may be repositioned to match your new breast size and shape.

Recovery Expectations

Recovery time for breast augmentation with a lift varies for every patient, but you'll probably be strong enough to return to your normal activities within about a week. However, you should refrain from any exercise and strenuous activities for around 2 – 6 weeks. You may also experience moderate swelling that lasts about three weeks following surgery. Your breasts should settle into their new position after several months, at which time you will be able to see your beautiful results.
