What are Injectable Dermal Fillers?
Injectable dermal fillers are typically used to help replenish lost facial volume. The face can lack volume for a variety of reasons, but age and significant weight loss are often major contributors. Dermal fillers work within your skin by filling in sunken or hollow areas. Fillers are a nonsurgical alternative for people looking to even out sagging skin, wrinkles, and fine lines in order to create a younger-looking face. They can also be added to other cosmetic treatments to provide the benefits of a traditional facelift without the need for surgery, the risk of scarring, and the required downtime that follows. Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Frederic Corbin offers a variety of fillers based on his patients' cosmetic goals. To find out which treatment is recommended for you, we invite you to visit Dr. Corbin Plastic Surgery in Brea or Beverly Hills, CA.

Ideal Candidates for Dermal Fillers
Ideal candidates for injectable fillers are those looking to decrease the presence of wrinkles and fine lines without resorting to a surgical facelift. In most situations, people with significant signs of aging or those who have recently lost a significant amount of weight end up with areas on their face that are sunken in or uneven, making them great candidates for injectable fillers. This treatment might also be a promising option for those who are uncomfortable with scars that can occur following a surgical facelift.
Our Injection Technique
Prior to your treatment, Dr. Corbin will meet with you to gain insight into your aesthetic goals and determine what product might best achieve them. For the actual procedure, Dr. Corbin will use numbing cream as an anesthetic to ease the discomfort of the injection. He will decide how much of the injectable is necessary and will gradually and evenly inject it via a small needle. Keeping the desired result in mind, either a portion of or an entire syringe could be used during the procedure.
After Filler Injections
Filler injections are done as a quick outpatient procedure in our Brea or Beverly Hills, CA office. Due to the numbing agents, the process is usually only mildly uncomfortable and requires little to no downtime afterward. You can expect swelling or bruising initially, but these symptoms should fade away within a few days. Results can last from a few months to a full year depending on the product and the placement of injection. To maintain optimal results, Dr. Corbin may recommend touch-ups.
Reduce Your Wrinkles
If time is taking a toll on your face but you prefer not to undergo facial surgery, then fillers might be the perfect solution for you. Fillers often reveal younger, more luminous skin without major risks or downtime afterward. There are a number of products on the market today that can help you attain the results you've dreamed of. To learn more about fillers or to schedule a consultation, call Dr. Corbin Plastic Surgery at your earliest convenience to begin your journey to a more luminous look.
